SUPERVISOR CREDENTIALING TRAINING IN MARYLAND

Are you a Maryland Social Worker or Professional Counselor seeking your Clinical Supervision credential?

For All Seasons’ Center for Learning is pleased to offer an engaging, supervisor training program, which fulfills the COMAR requirements for licensure in the state of Maryland. Our experiential program will provide valuable instruction on how to create a dynamic and supportive atmosphere where your supervisees will thrive. You will gain key learnings in trauma-informed, person-first supervision, and develop practical steps to recognizing and managing signs of burnout, fatigue, and vicarious trauma in your supervisory role. Participating clinicians will receive 18 Category I CEUs for in-person training hours and 9 Category II CEUs for self-paced online learning to be completed prior to June 23-25 training. Thanks to the generous support of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) administered by Talbot County Economic Development, the participant fee for this program has been reduced from $1,250 (actual cost) to $350 per person!

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The objectives for this supervisor credentialing training are aligned with COMAR regulations and will prepare Social Workers and Professional Counselors for trauma-informed, person-first supervisory relationships.

  • Examine the shift from clinician to supervisor through the lens of the three functions of supervision: administrative, educational, and supportive
  • Expand your confidence and communication to hold supervisees accountable while maintaining positive professional rapport
  • Connect how research on vulnerability and shame complements the current research on effective supervision
  • Develop skills to manage vicarious trauma and decrease compassion fatigue as a clinical supervisor
  • Understand how supervisees’ backgrounds (including culture, family of origin, life experience, etc.) can influence the supervision dynamic
  • Develop skills to access, navigate, and comprehend Maryland COMAR, codes of ethics, and forms needed for licensure applications
  • Learn effective strategies for group supervision

ABOUT THE TRAINER

Jessica Bass, LCPC, LCPAT, ATR-BC, NCC is the Director of Clinical Services of For All Seasons, Inc., an outpatient mental health agency and rape crisis center with Mid-Shore offices in Easton, Cambridge, Denton, Chestertown, Stevensville, and Tilghman Island. Jessica received her undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, and a dual master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the states of Maryland and North Carolina, a Licensed Clinical Professional Art Therapist in Maryland, and a nationally Board Certified Art Therapist through the ATCB, Inc.  Her clinical focus is incorporating a multi-modality approach to treat clients impacted by complex trauma. In 2012, Jessica relocated to the Eastern Shore which brought a fondness for this unique community and an appreciation for Old Bay, crabs, and the beautiful Chesapeake. In 2021, Jessica relocated to North Carolina with her family to be closer to family. She continues to work remotely and travel to the shore on a quarterly basis to remain connected to the community.

This training is for you if...

  • You are a licensed mental health clinician in the state of Maryland
  • You can travel to Queenstown, MD for the duration of the training days (June 23-25, 2023)

Meals

Breakfast and lunch will be provided to participants each day of the training program.

Dinners are not included in the program participation fee.

Registration Fee

This registration fee is payable in one payment of $350 due by May 5, 2023, OR in two installments: 50% ($175) due by May 5, 2023, to secure the participant’s spot, and the remaining 50% ($175) due by June 9, 2023.

The majority of the cost of participating in this program has been underwritten by Talbot Economic Development through American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. Actual cost is $1,250.

Scholarships and Payment Plans Available

Limited scholarships are available for those who may otherwise be unable to participate due to financial hardship. If you would like to request financial assistance through a partial scholarship for this program, indicate your interest on your participation enrollment form.

REGISTRATION & TIMELINE

  • Registration is open until the training is full. All registrations are due no later than June 2, 2023.
  • Participants paying via installment plan must remit final registration fee by June 9, 2023.
  • Pre-work materials and additional information will be sent to participants following registration.
  • In-person training days to take place June 23-25, 2023.

Note: Because this training is grant-funded, For All Seasons is required to report program outcomes. Participants will be asked to complete multiple choice surveys before the training begins and following the training’s completion.
